Website, Google profile, and public-footprint audit

See what's broken, what's only suspicious, and what to fix first.

For $450, Ready for Discovery gives you a documented, prioritized repair plan for your website, Google Business Profile, public listings, and domain setup.

Use it yourself, hand it to the person already updating your site, or ask me to quote the repairs separately.

Limited introductory offer: $250. The scope and report standard are the same.

One completed engagement began with 13 dead URLs and only 4 of 28 pages present in Google's index. Those are documented starting conditions, not ranking or performance results. See the recorded findings.

A story about being found

A beautiful place can still be hard to find.

Imagine you own a beautiful wedding venue on a quiet country road at the end of a long, winding driveway.

The place is exactly what a couple's looking for. The grounds are beautiful. The reviews are good. Once people arrive, they can clearly see how special it is.

But the sign at the highway is missing. Google Maps points to an old entrance. At the fork, one sign still shows the previous business name. The front gate looks closed, and the doorbell doesn't work.

Standing inside the venue, everything appears fine. The property itself isn't the problem.

But people who don't already know the way may drive past it, arrive at the wrong place, or give up and choose somewhere easier to reach.

Your online presence works the same way.

A prospective customer begins somewhere outside your business. They search Google, look at Maps, visit a directory, ask an AI service, or follow a link. Each step is another sign along the road. Your website isn't the entire journey: it's the destination those signs are supposed to lead toward.

Ready for Discovery travels that road as a stranger would. We check whether the signs are present, if they all agree, if they even point to the right place, and whether the front doorbell works when someone arrives.

For $450, you receive a documented inspection of that entire route. We show you what's working, where the trail breaks, the evidence behind each finding, and what should be repaired first. You can take that plan to your existing website provider, complete the work yourself, or ask us to quote the repairs separately.

We can't promise that every person who reaches the property will choose it.

We can show you which signs you control are missing, wrong, or pointing somewhere else.

One real engagement

The kinds of broken signs we find

These are findings, not performance results. They describe the condition of one business’s website and domain before the work was completed.

13
dead URLs accumulated as pages were renamed or removed
47 / 3
impressions and clicks going to one of those error pages
4 of 28
site pages present in Google’s index at the initial check
329
images without a usable description
9
reviews on an incomplete Google Business Profile at the initial check

Work performed: the Google Business Profile was completed as part of the engagement.

Separate operational finding: the domain had no SPF record. Invoices were also reaching spam because of a different email-authentication alignment problem. Both were real; they weren't the same problem.

The defined scope

Website plus online footprint

The audit looks for broken, missing, contradictory, and unsubmitted information. Fix work is agreed from the findings, not sold as a generic package.

A

Website integrity

Navigation, dead URLs, crawl access, sitemaps, indexing eligibility, page titles, descriptions, headings, internal links, and exposed working files.

B

Public footprint

Google Business Profile, duplicated or unclaimed listings, business identity, services, locations, review systems, and contradictions between public sources.

C

Adjacent domain checks

SPF, DKIM, and DMARC are checked because a domain can look correct while legitimate mail fails. Email delivery is reported separately from discovery readiness.

Not promised

No ranking, traffic, inquiry, booking, or AI-recommendation number. The audit is judged by whether its findings are supported, its limitations are clear, and its priorities are useful.

Three ways to start

Choose the depth you need.

Start with the free automated check, add human judgment with the $79 Mini-Audit, or request the complete audit. The other pages explain the evidence and limits for specific parts of the work.

Check it. Record it. Prove it.

Forty-one years with the Navy. Twenty on active duty, twenty-one more as a civilian.

I came up in the advanced electronics field, on weapons direction systems, where “close enough” isn’t a category. I retired from active duty as a Chief Petty Officer in 1999 and spent the next twenty-one years on the civilian side of radar acquisition, finishing as a GS-15 running nine programs from development through sustainment, and better than nine hundred radars installed across the fleet. Part of that job was standing in front of admirals and senior Navy officials and being able to prove whatever I had just told them.

That’s the habit I brought to this work: check it, write down what you found, change it, then verify the change held. And be ready to show the work to anyone who asks.

I retired at the end of 2020, started acting at sixty, and joined SAG-AFTRA. Acting also put me in the gig economy, alongside a lot of small businesses. Photographers, studios, one-person operations. People who are very good at the thing they sell and have nothing left over for the systems that influence whether the business can be found.

That machinery breaks quietly. A link in your own menu returning an error. A sitemap that was never submitted while most of the site remained outside Google’s index. Hundreds of photographs with no description attached to them. Two Google listings for one business, with reviews split between them. Legitimate invoices landing in spam because the sending setup failed authentication. Nothing warns you.

Ready for Discovery finds what's broken, missing, contradictory, or never submitted in how your business shows up online. The audit tells you exactly what's wrong and what should happen next. If you want me to make the repairs, that work is scoped and priced separately.

I work remotely with businesses nationwide. In-person consultations are available by arrangement in the Charleston, South Carolina area.

Limited by design

Access is scoped to the work

I ask for the least-permissive role that allows the agreed work and keep it only as long as needed. Ownership and unrelated parts of the business stay with the client.

  1. 01

    The working access is delegated.

Depending on scope, that can include temporary website or hosting access, Google Search Console as a Full user, and Google Analytics at the property level as a Viewer. Analytics Editor access is requested only when a specific configuration change has been agreed.

  2. 02

    Ownership stays with the client.

I ask for Manager access to a Google Business Profile, never Owner. Search Console, Analytics, the domain, and the website remain in the client’s accounts.

  3. 03

Private communications and money stay private.

No Google Workspace super-admin role, mailbox access, or payment, banking, and invoicing credentials. I provide instructions or work with the owner present.

Every account remains the client’s. Access is delegated, limited, and revocable.
