Google Business Profile audit

The public profile should describe the real business.

This audit checks whether a Google Business Profile is owned, eligible, complete, internally consistent, and aligned with the business's website and actual operations.

It does not treat profile completion as a promise of placement. It documents the controllable state and separates that state from Google's ranking and verification decisions.

Business facts first

What is inspected

Ownership and verification
Whether the correct account controls the profile, whether verification is complete, and whether access roles leave ownership with the client.
Identity and category
Business name, primary and secondary categories, description, services, and the website link are compared with what the business actually offers.
Location and service area
Storefront, service-area, and hybrid settings are checked against real customer contact. A hidden-address business should not publish a home address it does not serve customers at.
Customer-facing details
Hours, phone display choice, appointment links, photos, and other available fields are checked for omissions and contradictions.
Duplicates and public conflicts
Possible duplicate profiles and conflicting names, locations, phone numbers, services, or website information are documented before any correction is attempted.

Changes stay within policy

What can be corrected

After the findings are agreed, fix work can include completing eligible fields, correcting inaccurate information, aligning the website and profile, documenting duplicate-resolution steps, and preparing the evidence Google requests for verification.

Google selects the available verification method and makes the final verification decision. A suspended or rejected profile is handled from the reason and evidence Google provides, not by creating a duplicate or repeatedly changing fields.

Not promised

No better rank, map-pack position, call count, review count, or verification date. Google says local results are mainly based on relevance, distance, and prominence, and there is no way to request or pay for better local ranking.

A visible change record

What the client receives

  • A field-by-field finding record with screenshots or other evidence where useful.
  • A list of conflicts between the profile, website, and other public business information.
  • An agreed correction list that distinguishes owner actions from delegated work.
  • Verification of saved fields after changes have propagated.
  • A list of unresolved Google-controlled decisions, with their actual status.

I request Manager access only when direct work is agreed. The client remains Owner and can remove access at any time.
